
Do you know someone with Chronic Kidney Disease? Around 10% of people in the UK have CKD.
Here are some of the facts:
- uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure.
- over 70,000 people in the UK are being treated for kidney failure.
- there are 40-45,000 premature deaths in the UK every year due to CKD.
- black, Asian and minority ethnic communities are five times more likely to develop CKD than other groups.
- every day over 20 people in the UK will develop kidney failure.
- there are over 1,000 children with CKD in the UK.
- almost 4,600 transplants took place in the UK in 2022/23.
- there are currently 7,000 people waiting for a transplant.
Working alongside the Scottish Kidney Federation, Audrey Glen has organised the Conference which is titled “Coping with Kidney Disease in 2024” on Saturday 11th May 2024 at The Suttie Centre in Aberdeen.
This Conference is aimed at patients and their families, so it is free to attend with lunch/refreshments all provided.
There is free parking close by as the venue is on the Foresterhill campus of the University of Aberdeen.
