In association with Henderson Loggie, the black-tie event will take place at Fairmont St Andrews and will recognise the most successful businesses in The Courier’s circulation area.  The Awards cover 12 nominated categories including Agriculture, Family, Growth, Manufacturing and Retail businesses of the year.

The judging panel, chaired by Alliance Trust chief executive Katherine Garrett-Cox, also have the pleasure of choosing the winner of the inaugural Outstanding Contribution Award and naming the overall Courier Business Awards Business of the Year for 2014. Winners in both of those categories will be announced on the night.

The Courier Editor Richard Neville said, “We’ve had a huge response to our call for entries with over 100 entries.
“We set the Awards up last year to celebrate innovative, entrepreneurial and dynamic businesses in east central Scotland and they have proven a great way to reward the success of companies operating in our readership area.”

The shortlisting process took place on September 3 and more than 30 local companies have been put through to the next stage of the judging process. “I was a judge last year and it is great to be back,” judging panel chairman Katherine Garrett-Cox said.
“I think it would be difficult to have a better set of entrants. There is a huge diversity and variety amongst the companies who have entered – and also several repeat applications, which is encouraging to see.\"
