Tayside Regional Advisory Board Seeks Business Leader To Chair

Published

11th September 2014

After 5 successful years, the current Tayside Regional Advisory Board (RAB) Chair has stepped down and we are currently seeking to appoint a new business leader from the Tayside region to take up this exciting opportunity.

There are five regional boards covering lowland Scotland and the Tayside RAB covers the following area: Angus, Dundee and Perth and Kinross. The Chair will lead a Board of circa 20 people drawn from senior leaders in the private, academic and public sectors of the region.

Regular engagement with businesses across Scotland is a critical part of how we plan and prioritise our activities, and the purpose of the RABs is to act in an advisory capacity for Scottish Enterprise and the wider public sector. The Board helps to shape delivery of economic development in Tayside and helps to ensure the economic ambition for the region is realised and that Tayside maximises its contribution to Scotland’s economic growth. Of particular interest are the areas of innovation, investment and internationalisation.

RAB meetings are held quarterly in SE’s Dundee office, although meetings may also take place at other locations throughout the region as appropriate.  In addition, the Chair will also be invited to participate in other sessions on specific topics.

Membership of the RAB is on an individual and not on a representative basis. The Board has approximately four Board meetings a year and there is no remuneration for services, but there will be reasonable expenses for meeting attendance. The Chair would normally be appointed for an initial three year tenure.
