Dundee lawyer promoted to Partner at Lindsays

A Dundee lawyer has secured her second promotion in a year - stepping up to become a Partner at legal firm Lindsays.

Kirsty Preston, who advises people in personal legal affairs such as Wills, Powers of Attorney and Inheritance Tax, begins her new role today (Tuesday October 1).

She is based at Lindsays’ offices at Seabraes in Dundee city centre, working with clients across Tayside.

Just 12 months ago, the Broughty Ferry lawyer had been promoted to Senior Associate in the firm’s Private Client team, having first joined as a Senior Solicitor in June 2018.

The new Partner, a graduate of Dundee University who was previously a tutor on its Diploma in Legal Practice, said: “The firm’s work across Tayside has grown significantly in recent years and it is exciting to be part of that continuing journey.

“No two people with whom we work are the same - and we tailor our services to the individual, which is why we are advising increasing numbers of people across the region. That’s so important. There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to our personal and professional legal affairs.”

Also in the Private Client team - but based in the firm’s Perth office - Mhairi Cage has been promoted from Senior Associate to Director.

Stephen O’Hare, meanwhile, takes the step up from Associate to Senior Associate in Perth.

The three Tayside promotions are among 11 announced today. The others are at Lindsays’ offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

They have been made on the back of another 11 made across the leading independent firm in April. Those included five new Partners.

Alasdair Cummings, Lindsays’ Managing Partner, said: “I cannot remember another year when we have been able to recognise and reward the hard work, talent and achievements of so many of our colleagues with promotions.

“This is a fantastic reflection not only of the opportunities our firm is able to offer, but of the high quality legal professionals we attract and create a progressive career path for - benefiting them, our firm and our clients.”

Elsewhere, Lindsays, which also has an office in Crieff, this week welcomed Mairi Innes to the firm as an Associate in its Residential Property department, based in Perth.
