Leading Care Provider reveals impressive team survey results

Leading Scottish Care provider, BCG, were delighted with the results of their recent colleague survey, which not only saw an excellent participation rate, but more significantly, an impressive 82% overall satisfaction rate.

BCG’s full 1400-plus staff complement were invited to take part in the survey – the first of its kind at BCG – earlier in the summer. The questions posed asked team members to give their thoughts and feelings around questions on how they felt about working for BCG.

Questions included confidence in the leadership, training, and, most importantly, the care they give to their residents; trust in their colleagues; fair pay and feeling valued; work/life balance, and whether they would recommend BCG as a place to work. They were also asked if they could have fun with the team they work with, which yielded a 91% positive result.

All participants completed the survey anonymously, which meant, along with questions around satisfaction, they were also comfortable to highlight areas for improvement. Alongside questions where participants graded their answers according to how strongly they agreed or not, there were open questions where they could write specific concerns.

Karen Johnson, Managing Director at BCG, said:

“Anonymity was vital for the survey to work effectively, and to give us the information we’re looking, for to be able to continue to move forwards. This wasn’t simply an exercise where we were looking for a pat on the back. The main thrust was to seek the open and honest feelings and needs of all our teams, across every role and contribution.

“This first survey is only a part of the ongoing commitment to make sure all team members not only have a voice, but the reassurance that, whatever

issues they want to raise will be considered and acted upon. Recent years have been some of the toughest for the Care Sector nationwide, in a number of ways. At BCG, we are committed to continuing to rebuild a sense of fulfilment, trust and personal pride around our staff teams.

“This, we know, will in turn enhance our standards for excellence in quality care for our residents.

“Based on our teams’ feedback, clear commitments have already been outlined for the year ahead. This survey has been an illustration of the dedication and hard work of every colleague at BCG. The impressive overall satisfaction rate is incredibly reassuring as we continue to create a supportive and rewarding workplace for all.”
