The Department for Business and Trade’s Made in the UK, Sold to the World Awards 2025 are now open for entries until 9 March 2025 with two new categories added this year: Digital and Technology, and Export Services. The latter aims to recognise the contribution of logistics and distribution businesses that facilitate UK exports.
Now in its third year, the awards celebrate the international sales success of small and medium-sized businesses across the UK and provide a stepping stone for further growth and opportunity.
SMEs in export categories ranging from consultancy and professional services to retail and consumer goods are being encouraged to submit their names for consideration in the awards scheme.
The DBT points out that previous winners have benefited from the platform the awards offer, seeing revenue increase and expanding to new territories across the world.
Minister for Services, Small Businesses and Exports, Gareth Thomas, said: “When small businesses export, it opens a wealth of incredible opportunities. These awards are a testament to the innovation that British SMEs display day in, day out.”
Other categories include Advanced Manufacturing and Construction; Agriculture, Food and Drink; Creative Industries; Education and EdTech; Financial Services and FinTech; Healthcare; Low Carbon Energy; and Infrastructure and Engineering.
The winners’ package has been updated to include a year’s free business membership to the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade; an export masterclass with a Lloyds Bank trade expert; professional photos of their business; and an invitation to the winners’ reception in London.
