WTO improves access to tariffs and trade data

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is replacing its former Tariff Analysis Online facility with a new platform which aggregates official information about applied tariffs and import data notified by its members with details of bound duties (agreed maximum tariffs).

The WTO Tariff & Trade Data (TTD) website, which is currently in its beta version for preliminary release, includes bilateral trade datasets, time series views and reports on export and import patterns by product and trade partner.

Available here, the new online platform provides official tariff and import data for more than 150 economies, including annual data from 1996 onwards for many of them.

This is complemented with information from the WTO Analytical Database (ADB), which integrates data from WTO sources, including Regional Trade Agreements (RTAs), as well as data from external partners such as the International Trade Centre (ITC), UN Comtrade and Trade Data Monitor (TDM).

Also included in the TTD are bilateral trade dataset of annual bilateral flows broken down by product categories, detailed tariff information and import data at the tariff line level and imports and exports pattern reports containing trade values and shares by partner and product.

The WTO is inviting users to submit feedback on the beta version by emailing ttd@wto.org.
