Dundee Tech Firm Launches New Venture to Tackle Emissions and Air Pollution

Dundee-based technology company Alator Data Services Ltd has launched Verdant Analytix, an independent spin-out focused on tackling greenhouse gas (GHG) and fugitive emissions.

Building on Alator’s expertise in air quality and environmental monitoring, Verdant Analytix is set to disrupt the market with its first solution: Verion, a real-time emissions tracking system designed to help industries detect leaks, improve efficiency, and reduce carbon output.

Following its first live industrial trial, Verion is already demonstrating the value of continuous, real-time data in identifying and addressing emissions more effectively.

“Businesses are under growing pressure to track and reduce emissions, but most existing solutions are too expensive or too slow,” said David Brown, Co-Founder of Verdant Analytix. “Verion provides continuous, reliable data - not just periodic snapshots - helping reduce environmental impact and meet regulatory demands.”

Headquartered at Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc, Verdant is part of Scotland’s clean innovation ecosystem. Alongside Alator, the company is investing in local talent, creating skilled jobs, and working with Scottish suppliers to support economic growth.

“We’re committed to building a thriving environmental technology sector in Scotland,” added Kerry Brown. “From tackling damp and mould in homes to helping industries reduce emissions, our solutions support healthier communities through better air quality - indoors and out.”
