EQ Sponsors hugely successful Business Beats Cancer Dundee fundraiser

The local business community came together this year at the fourth annual Business Beats Cancer Dundee event, held at the Apex Hotel. EQ were proud to act as main sponsor for the evening, which brought together businesses of all sizes with one common goal – to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.

Guests enjoyed a lively music quiz, along with both silent and live auctions featuring an array of exciting prizes donated by generous businesses from across the region. One of the highlights of the night was the ‘Rock in a Box’ competition, with the chance to win a stunning diamond necklace, kindly donated by Walkers the Jeweller. The atmosphere throughout the evening was one of fun, laughter and competitiveness!

Thanks to the incredible support from sponsors, donors, and attendees, the event raised an outstanding £43,000, every penny of which will go directly towards Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work here in Dundee.

For EQ, sponsoring the event was particularly meaningful. Like many businesses and families, EQ has felt the impact of cancer through the loss of colleagues, friends, and loved ones. Supporting Business Beats Cancer is a way to honour those memories while helping to fund vital research for the future.

This year also marked an important transition for the committee. After several years of dedicated leadership, Alan Duff has stepped down as Chair. Taking his place are Caroline McKenna, Chief Operating Officer of EQ, and David Hay, Client Services Manager at AND Digital, who will serve as joint Chairs going forward.

"It's an honour and a privilege to be part of the Dundee Business Beats Cancer committee. A huge thank you to Alan Duff and David Quinn who have been instrumental these past few years in achieving some incredible fundraising amounts for Dundee cancer research. David and I very much looking forward to continuing the Dundee BBC legacy and have some exciting plans in store"

The committee would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all those who donated prizes, as these contributions are critical to the success of the night. Looking ahead, the team are already preparing for the next event – and welcomes support from businesses and individuals who would like to donate prizes.

The Business Beats Cancer Dundee committee is also seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the team and help shape future events. If you’d like to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
