More than 109,096 products across Europe now carry the EU Ecolabel’s trusted logo, with certified products having increased by 7% (+6723) since March 2025, according to the European Commission.
The scheme now offers a record number of eco-friendly choices, highlighting goods and services with a guaranteed reduced environmental impact throughout their entire life cycle.
“Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play a central role in the success of the EU Ecolabel,” the Commission said. “They make up 57% of all licence holders, showing that Europe’s green transition is being driven from the ground up.”
Tourist accommodations remain the largest product group in terms of licences, representing 26% of all licences, with 901 certified establishments. In terms of products, paints and varnishes are in the lead, with 38,096 certified products, followed by tissue paper and tissue products (20,253), textiles (11,067) and hard surface cleaning products (8284). Regarding countries, Italy top the rankings for products certified under the scheme, followed closely by Spain, France and Germany.
Those UK organisations which decided to continue using the EU Ecolabel after the UK left the EU had to apply for a new contract with the EU Ecolabel competent body of an EU Member State where the eligible product is sold.
