Trauma Informed Training

Julie is a great employee. She’s worked for you for years, is well liked by her team and generally meets targets. But there is a problem. Whenever you suggest she steps up to the next level, she refuses. She always gets others to do presentations, and if that is not an option, gets incredibly anxious. It’s frustrating that she is not living up to her potential.

What you don’t know is that Julie had a difficult childhood. She didn’t feel safe at home. To cope, she learned to be quiet, and not put her head above the parapet.

If you knew this, you might approach her career development in a different way.

Trauma Informed training will give you the tools to recognise where challenges come from, respond appropriately, and truly make a difference in the lives of those you serve. Understanding how trauma influences behavior is key to creating environments that are safer, and more supportive.

Trauma-informed practice not only enhances your approach to better support mental health but also equips you with the tools to unlock the potential of those you work with. As a bonus, it also allows you to provide support without experiencing burnout yourself.

Trauma informed training

I have developed a Trauma Informed Practices workshops for organisations, that equips staff with the essential knowledge and tools to confidently work with individuals affected by trauma.

  • How to recognize when someone is ‘hijacked’
  • How to listen in a trauma-informed way
  • Simple techniques to support people through anxiety

More details

Testimonials

“The workshop was such a positive experience. I especially valued the discussion on fixing people vs. holding space — it gave me something to take into my own practice. The deeper dive into trauma and the interactive group learning made the content easy to connect with. Overall, it was a great balance of information, atmosphere, and reflection.”
