The Works, one of the most popular retailers in the UK – the go-to place for reading, learning, creativity and play - has opened a brand-new standalone store in Overgate, Dundee.
Located within a prime site on the ground floor of the centre, the new store spans 2,572 sq. ft.
Founded in 1981 and with over 500 stores nationwide, The Works is firmly established as a favourite destination for affordable, screen-free activities for the whole family. The brand’s ethos of connecting people with feel-good ways to spend their time can be found across a product range focussed on arts and crafts, toys, games, and stationery, and all at affordable and inclusive price points.
Books are a key part of The Works’ appeal, with a cult following of avid readers flocking to stores to snap up the latest releases at low prices. Kids’ book titles support learning and reading development while hot-off-the-press launch day releases by key authors inspire reading enjoyment in adults.
With a strong product offering, The Works recently launched its ‘Time Well Spent’ campaign which promotes screen-free fun on big brands at low prices. Furthermore, an increased focus on stocking popular family-friendly names such as Crayola, Peppa Pig and Squishmallows, along with own-brand merchandise aimed at busy seasonal moments including Halloween and Christmas, is driving the appeal and success of The Works.
