Angus Housing Association has announced the appointment of Angela Murphy as its new Director of Finance and Corporate Services, strengthening the Association’s senior management team as it looks ahead to its next phase of strategic growth.

The appointment follows confirmation that Arlene Grant, the Association’s current Director of Finance and Corporate Services, will step down from the role after 12 years of dedicated service. During her tenure, Arlene has made a significant and lasting contribution, providing strong financial leadership, strategic direction and unwavering commitment to the organisation. Her guidance has been central to Angus Housing Association’s stability and success, and she leaves behind a proud legacy that has helped shape the Association’s continued progress.

Angela Murphy brings with her more than 18 years’ experience within the social housing sector, along with extensive expertise in finance and strategic leadership. In her new role, Angela will lead the Association’s financial and treasury management strategy, IT and corporate services, governance and compliance, while also driving business improvement across the organisation.

Commenting on her appointment, Angela said:

“It is a privilege to take on the Director of Finance and Corporate Services position following the retirement of such a respected leader. I’m grateful for the strong financial stewardship that has been established and I look forward to building on the solid financial framework already in place. Working with the team, I’m excited to help guide the organisation through its next phase of strategic growth and to develop and implement financial and treasury management plans that are integral to delivering Angus Housing Association’s business strategy — including increasing the supply of high‑quality affordable housing and delivering sustainable investment plans for existing homes.”

Gail Robertson, Chief Executive of Angus Housing Association, welcomed the appointment, highlighting the value Angela brings to the organisation’s leadership team.

“Angela is a welcome and exciting addition to Angus Housing Association. She brings valuable leadership, strategic insight and financial expertise, all of which will contribute to advancing our objectives around strategic growth, sustainability, quality, inclusion and positive community impact. We would also like to thank Arlene Grant for her exceptional service and leadership over the past 12 years and wish her a long, happy and well‑deserved retirement.”

Angus Housing Association extends its warmest thanks to Arlene Grant for her outstanding contribution and is delighted to welcome Angela Murphy as she takes up her new role.
