Grey Events has played a central role in the success of Bonfest 2026, delivering comprehensive audiovisual production for the three-day festival in Kirriemuir.
The annual event, which celebrates the life and music of AC/DC frontman Bon Scott, drew hundreds of fans from around the world across the weekend. With a packed line-up spanning tribute acts and original artists, the festival continues to grow in both scale and reputation - placing increasing demand on high-quality technical production.
This year, Grey Events was tasked with overseeing sound, lighting and stage delivery across the entire programme. From Friday’s opening sets featuring The Quo Story, Victory or Die and AC/DC UK, through to headline performances on Sunday from Reef and Livewire: The AC/DC Show, the team ensured consistent production standards throughout.
Managing a dense schedule of performances, Grey Events coordinated rapid changeovers and maintained uninterrupted delivery across multiple acts. Their work helped sustain the momentum of the festival, allowing organisers to keep to a tight running order while providing audiences with a seamless live experience.
Grey Events owner Andrew Allan said the team approached Bonfest with a clear focus on both technical precision and respect for the festival’s identity.
“After being involved in the festival for a number of years now, we know how important Bonfest is, not just as a music event, but as a tribute with real emotional meaning for fans,” he said.“Our job was to make sure every performance sounded and looked exactly as it should, while keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. The team worked incredibly hard to deliver that across the full weekend.”
The production also had to adapt to the unique challenges of hosting a large-scale event within a small-town environment. Kirriemuir’s layout requires careful planning around equipment logistics, acoustics and crowd flow - factors Grey Events managed while maintaining professional-grade output.
Allan added: “Working in a town setting like Kirriemuir brings its own challenges, but that’s part of what makes Bonfest special. We had to be flexible and precise at the same time, and I think the result speaks for itself.”
As Bonfest continues to expand, the role of experienced production partners is becoming increasingly vital. Grey Events’ delivery in 2026 highlights how professional AV support is now central to the success of festivals operating at this scale.
While the spotlight remained on the music and the legacy of Bon Scott, Grey Events’ work ensured the festival was delivered to a standard befitting its international audience, cementing their role as a key force behind Bonfest 2026.
