Scale New Heights for Cash for Kids with the Ultimate RRS Discovery Challenge

Published

7th May 2026

Step out of the office and experience one of Dundee’s most unique corporate fundraising challenges aboard the iconic RRS Discovery. The Discovery Mast Climb Challenge invites businesses from across Dundee and Angus to scale the historic ship’s rigging in support of Cash for Kids, helping raise vital funds for vulnerable local children and families.

Participants will climb the famous mast and rigging under the guidance of trained professionals, taking in spectacular views across Dundee’s waterfront while testing their confidence, teamwork and determination. No previous climbing experience is required — just a willingness to take on an exciting challenge and support a fantastic cause.

Who Can Take Part?

To ensure everyone’s safety, participants must:

  •  Be aged 12 or over (Participants aged 12–17 must have a parent or guardian present at the event location.)
  •  Be at least 140cm tall
  • Weigh less than 120kg

All participants will be sent an agreement form by the Cash for Kids team after sign-up.

The event is a brilliant opportunity for businesses to strengthen team morale, encourage employee wellbeing and demonstrate corporate social responsibility, all while networking with other local organisations and supporting children in the community. Whether entering as a team-building activity, charity fundraiser or personal challenge, every climber will play a part in making a difference locally.

Businesses are encouraged to gather colleagues, friends or clients to create a team and raise sponsorship funds ahead of the climb. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.

Spots are limited — don’t miss your chance to be part of this unforgettable day.
