Dundee & Angus College students have recorded some of the highest student satisfaction levels in Scotland.
In the latest national survey, D&A’s Higher Education (HE) students recorded the highest score in the country with 96.5% satisfied with their courses, 3.6 percentage points above the national average of 92.9%.
The new figures published by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) also show that 96.8% of D&A’s full-time Further Education (FE) students were satisfied with their college experience, compared with a Scottish average of 95.5%, the second highest level in Scotland.
The results of the survey confirm Dundee & Angus College’s position as one of Scotland’s consistently strongest-performing colleges for student satisfaction. In recent years it has been rated among the leading three or four performers.
Simon Hewitt, Principal of Dundee & Angus College said: “It is heartening to see the satisfaction levels among our students. The overwhelming majority have a positive experience at Dundee & Angus.
“We want everyone who studies with us to have the best experience possible and our team puts in a huge amount of effort make sure that everyone gets as much as they can out of studying at Dundee & Angus.
“The last academic year was tough for everyone in the sector and resources are sparce, so it is even more pleasing to see that we have managed to maintain a strong showing in this survey.
“Behind these figures is an enormous amount of hard work by colleagues across the College. Whether students are coming to us straight from school, returning to education, developing new skills or studying towards a higher-level qualification, our aim is to give them the best possible experience and help them achieve their ambitions.
“We never take positive feedback for granted and will continue to listen closely to our students about what works well and what could be improved. Work on our campus transformation project is well underway and we know that will provide students with an even better experience.”
The results come from the SFC’s Student Satisfaction and Engagement Survey 2025-26, which provides a national measure of students’ experience of studying at Scotland’s colleges.
Students are asked to respond to a series of statements about their college experience. Across Scotland, satisfaction among full-time FE students was 95.5%, while satisfaction among full-time HE students was 92.9%.
The annual SFC survey is designed to help evaluate and enhance college provision in Scotland and provide a consistent national measure of student satisfaction and engagement.
Dundee & Angus College is progressing an ambitious Vision Project that will transform how further education supports learners, employers and communities. Central to this is the development of new, integrated campuses in the heart of Dundee at the Wellgate Centre and in Arbroath in Angus. These campuses will not simply act as places of learning, but as civic anchors, bringing together education, skills training, careers advice and employability services under one roof. The transformation project could generate £1.8 billion for the region by helping to drive economic growth and regeneration.
