Henderson Loggie has recruited Rod Mathers as a partner in its corporate finance team. Rod’s remit will be to work with the firm’s extensive client base to support their growth and succession plans and on creating other deal opportunities across Scotland.

Rod is a respected figure in the Scottish financial services market with over twenty years corporate finance experience gained in both the professional services market and industry. He was previously a senior member of a Big Four firm and partner of a large independent firm where he established the firm’s corporate finance and Central Belt practise.

He has also held a number of senior executive positions in industry where he has executed transactions as principal and on behalf of an investment syndicate. He has experience in a range of sectors including engineering services, manufacturing, energy and life sciences in both Scotland and Australia.

David Smith, Managing Partner of Henderson Loggie says:

“We are delighted to have someone of Rod’s calibre join our team. He brings a wealth of experience having worked in a number of different accountancy firms and, importantly, in a range of businesses not just in the UK but overseas. He will be a valuable addition to our team, not just because of his depth of knowledge of key business drivers but because he will be a great fit with his new colleagues.  He has the values of Henderson Loggie at heart and understands our ethos of putting clients first.

“Rod will work closely with Greig Rowand and other colleagues in the Corporate Finance team, which has been very active recently having worked on number of successful deals. Rod and Greig have ambitions to grow the team across the firm’s four offices to mirror our expansion plans”

Rod Mathers states:

“I see this as a great opportunity to help build on the success that Henderson Loggie has achieved in advising clients, whether it is to grow by merger or acquisition, to restructure, to secure additional funding or to realise an exit or succession plan. I believe my experience of working on a wide range of deals as adviser but also as an executive in industry will complement the existing capabilities within the corporate finance team.

“I am really looking forward to working with interesting and dynamic businesses and helping them to realise their strategic aims.”
