Albacom makes Senior Business Development Appointment

Dundee-based Albacom, a leading technology company specialising in providing electrical components for the defence and aviation industry, has appointed Bret Wincott as senior business development manager.

The appointment reflects Albacom’s commitment to further its success in the defence sector and a strategic expansion into the oil and gas market, with Mr Wincott bringing over 20 years’ industry sales experience to the role. Laterally sales manager for a specialist aerospace and defence company, he has held a number of business development positions within multinational companies serving the Ministry of Defence and aviation industry.  Mr Wincott joins Albacom at a time when the business is attracting new global partners and entering high growth markets in Europe and the Middle East.

Mr Wincott’s appointment is a key strategic move for Albacom, as CEO Jim Davidson explains: “We are delighted to welcome Bret to the Albacom team.  His vast amount of relevant experience will allow us to continue to provide an optimum service to our existing clients, whilst entering new markets with the confidence and the clarity to showcase how our products and approach can offer a unique solution to our target industries.”

Following Mr Wincott’s appointment, Albacom has secured a contract with a European-based global defence support company. The contract requires Albacom to design and manufacture the power suppliers for the company’s mobile guided missile system and Travelling Wave Tube (TWT) test equipment, which is intended specifically to allow the company to reset the TWT back to a working range. The scope of work, which is due to commence this month, and is the first stage in a wider programme which will also requires Albacom to supply additional component parts and to train staff on how to utilise the test equipment.
