A merger between 2 local companies has seen Clean Close Company become part of Hillcrest Maintenance Services and the Hillcrest Group. With a history of over 8 years of working together, the merger will help to safeguard jobs of the 20 people working for Clean Close as well as create new job opportunities in the future.

Mark Percival, Hillcrest Housing Association Director of Property explained that “Becoming part of the Hillcrest Group will afford Clean Close staff more training and development opportunities. Staff have already received a thorough induction day allowing them to learn more about Hillcrest Maintenance Services and the Group and meet key members of staff who will be on hand to help with the transition.

“Clean Close is a social enterprise and a not for profit seeking business so therefore fits well into the Hillcrest Group ethos. The merger will allow us to expand our expertise with a new focus on cleaning and carpet fitting. Having worked with Clean Close for a number of years we are excited about the prospect of working together to further improve services to our customers.”

Merging with Hillcrest Maintenance Services will provide additional commercial experience and focus and additional technical and wider Hillcrest Group business support to help improve the Clean Close Company’s financial and operational performance. Councillor Will Dawson, Dundee City Council city development convener, said:  “This is an excellent development for Clean Close Company following a long and successful trading relationship with the Hillcrest Group. Being part of the Hillcrest Group will bring operational and strategic benefits, enabling the Clean Close Company to grow more rapidly, achieve scale and with the prospect that more jobs will be created once the business is fully integrated into the Hillcrest Group”

The merger became official last week with staff beginning to operate from Hillcrest premises.
