Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce and The Chartered Institute of Marketing will be working together in 2011 to help support local businesses and students.

The two organisations will collaborate on a series of seminars that will give local businesses and CIM members, as well as university students, the opportunity to hear about leading edge marketing concepts and tools.  Their joint 'Marketing XChange' programme, which will commence in January, will showcase innovative and successful practitioners of emerging and exciting marketing tools such as digital marketing, social media and online branding.

Alan Mitchell, Chief Executive of Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce, said: 'Any organisation that wants to succeed has to be at the forefront of best practice, and nowhere is that more relevant than marketing.  It doesn't matter how good your product or service is: if people don't know about it they can't buy it.  The growth of the web and digital media means that there are now more ways than ever to promote your business and reach potential customers.  The 'XChange' seminars will keep local businesses fully up to speed.  It is also important that students know as well: after all, they will be the entrepreneurs and Chief Executives of tomorrow.  We are looking forward to working with the CIM to make sure that Tayside's businesses and students are better equipped than anyone else to succeed in 2011.'
