Customer service training specialist Donna Maver of Aberdeen-based DM Training has been named by People 1st, the workforce development charity behind the WorldHost programmes as the commercial trainer who has trained the most individuals as part of its WorldHost Regional Destination Initiative project across Scotland.
Donna is licensed by People 1st to deliver the WorldHost range of customer service training courses and has to date taught 175 individuals including 22 people from the prestigious Balmoral Castle and Estates, as featured in a WorldHost case study.
David Allen, Director of Scotland, People 1st said, “The WorldHost Regional Destination Initiative aims to position Scotland as one of the most welcoming destinations in the world and build on the legacy of world class events like The Open and last year’s Commonwealth Games. We wouldn’t be able to do it without the support of our fantastic trainers though, and Donna is doing a brilliant job in getting Aberdeen towards its WorldHost target. We look forward to continuing to work with her to train Aberdeen’s hospitality and tourism staff in the coming months.”
In Aberdeen City & Shire, 25% of eligible tourism-related businesses such as hospitality, retail, travel, passenger transport, leisure and tourism are required to have gained WorldHost Recognised Business status to enable the region to become a WorldHost destination.
Donna commented, “It is a real privilege working with People 1st on this project and helping so many fantastic local businesses gain their Recognised Business status. Hopefully our region will achieve WorldHost Recognised Destination status and help to put us on the tourist map for all the right reasons.”
