Fundraising in Style!

This year’s Cornerstone Annual Dinner saw over £36,000 raised to support their Quality of Life Programme.

The Programme aims to transform the lives of local people with disabilities and additional support needs by providing access to essential specialised equipment, services and activities that would otherwise be unavailable.

Three people who recently made Quality of Life applications were at the dinner: Stewart, Carol and Derek. They all had little wishes to make their lives better and, to their amazement, each of them were approached to help make these a reality.

Simon Fraser from Ben Reid Garden Centre donated a range of tools to Stewart to allow him to chase his dreams of becoming a landscape gardener. Stewart collected his tools at the end of May and is looking forward to getting started this summer.

Afternoon Tea at the Ardoe House Hotel was donated to Carol, who had always wanted an elegant afternoon with her friends, but never had the money to arrange a day like this herself.

Derek’s garden has become inaccessible and he has been approached by a couple of corporate teams who are keen to help him redevelop it so he can start growing vegetables again. Stewart has also offered to get involved and put his new tools to use!

This year’s event was made possible by the generous support of our incredible sponsors: BP, Petrofac and CNR International. We would also like to thank our fantastic volunteers who helped to ensure the evening was a great success.

Activities for children in Dundee
Our Children’s Activity Club in Dundee has been awarded funding by the Short Breaks Fund. This funding is essential and allows us to operate the club, which has now been running for four years.

The club gives children the chance to enjoy new and fun opportunities, whilst also giving their families and carers some free time to enjoy activities which otherwise might not be possible - secure in the knowledge that their children are having fun and being supported in a safe environment.
The club operates on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. For more details, please call 01382 220 238.
