Dundee-based Albacom, a leading technology company specialising in providing electrical components for the defence and aviation industry, is off to a strong start in 2016 having appointed

Ken Clarke as business development and customer success manager, whilst securing two key contracts.

Mr Clarke joins Albacom at a time when the business is attracting new global partners and entering high growth markets in Europe and India, and his appointment reflects Albacom’s commitment to further its success in the defence sector and a strategic expansion into the oil and gas market. Mr Clarke hails from an engineering background and has over 30 years’ specialist experience in the aerospace and defence industry.

Mr Clarke’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Albacom, as CEO Jim Davidson explains: “Albacom has a strong legacy in the defence sector. As we enter the New Year, the company is focused on providing our customers with the very best service, which is heralded by the addition of Ken to our team. We have launched our new website, have a number of positive enquiries in the pipeline and look forward to continued success in 2016.”

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Clarke stated: “From a commercial and engineering perspective I have first-hand knowledge of the defence and aviation market. I have previously worked with Albacom and respect the benefits its products and experience can bring to the sector. This is an exciting time to be joining Albacom, and I look forward to building upon the company’s heritage, developing relationships in new territories and focusing on our commitment to providing high quality products and service to our clients.”

Aligned with Mr Clarke’s appointment, Albacom has secured two new contracts; repeat custom from a Swedish defence company, designing and manufacturing circuit boards to be used in military aircraft, and a six-figure contract to supply high voltage power supplies to a U- based defence company.  Both contracts draw upon Albacom’s expertise to deliver a bespoke product, capable of withstanding the demanding environment required by the defence sector.
