Henderson Loggie, one of Scotland’s leading independent accountancy firms, has signed up to support a pioneering three day gaming festival taking place in Glasgow this weekend. Resonate Total Gaming runs from July 29th to 31st at the SECC and will showcase the work of Scotland’s newest indie developers alongside some of the biggest names in e-sports and games development.

Advising growing companies on tax and financial strategy, Henderson Loggie has successfully claimed £0.65 million in Video Games Tax Relief for sector clients since it was introduced two years ago.

Industry body TIGA, which represents the video games sector in the UK, has issued a call to UK Government to retain and improve Video Games Tax Relief to give UK companies competitive advantage in the global economy. As well as increasing the level of tax relief from 25% to 30%, TIGA suggests removing the cultural test which currently a game has to pass to qualify for tax relief.
