The company, owned by DC Thomson, said the enhanced status with Dell would help it grow its business.

Dell said the use of its storage technology has enabled Brightsolid to deliver “continued reductions in the cost of cloud services for its customers while reducing time spent on routine IT management and saving days in the deployment of the latest cloud technology”.

Richard Higgs, brightsolid’s chief executive, said: “We have worked hard to achieve Dell preferred partner status and this award particularly reflects Brightsolid’s dedication to talent leadership development.

“We like Dell’s model because there’s no technology lock-in, closed systems or unforeseen cost. Its approach to business complements our flexible, personal approach, really appealing to our ‘brightsolid family’ company value.”

He added: “Not all clouds are created equal and our customers have diverse requirements. Over the last couple of years we have worked really hard to refine our core product and service offerings into clear, bite sized problem solvers, of which Dell technology is a key component. Our customers really like this approach because they can choose, with the help of our design team, what solution is right for their business.”

Sarah Shields, director of UK Channel for Dell, said: “We are excited to welcome Brightsolid as a preferred partner. It’s investment in training will pay dividends for our customers and help our businesses grow and thrive. Dell certified partners can grow their businesses significantly faster than those partners who are not certified – in some cases, by more than 30%.”
