Kirrie Dumplings Catering started for Janet and Debbie over 10 years ago as a hobby, combining their love of cooking with an attachment to Strathmore Rugby Club in Forfar where they had both played and coached rugby.
“When Strathmore built their new clubhouse it created the opportunity to break into the hospitality market, providing quality 3 course lunches to sponsors on match days, and kept us involved with the rugby club, “said Janet.
As the lunches grew in popularity they were soon asked to cater for other functions both at the rugby club and outside venues, and the business has now built up a good client base in the Angus and Dundee area.
“Our success is down to providing quality food and a friendly, flexible service where the food is tailored to suit your needs, whatever the occasion,” said Janet. “All our food is all homemade and ingredients are locally sourced where possible. We can cater for a huge variety of functions, from country house events or private dining to family parties, club dinners, weddings and business buffets.”
“Yes we have catered aboard HMS Unicorn, provided the food for a boat launching ceremony in Montrose, had a few ‘Canapés in the Castle’ events, catered for supermarket and garage openings, organised garden parties and event managed all sorts of Christmas bashes,” added Debbie.
The duo are working with some current members of the Chamber of Commerce such as Johnston and Carmichael, Blackadders, EQ Accountants, NFU Mutual, Dundee University & Angus Council.
Kirrie Dumplings also run a pop-up themed restaurant once a month at Strathmore Rugby Club, Forfar (new guests welcome), and are due to start a monthly, pop-up, vintage café in conjunction with a local craft fair in Dundee (details to follow).
