Stagecoach East Scotland are finalists at the UK Bus Awards 2016 with a further 10 Stagecoach entries from across the UK also shortlisted.

The company\'s depot in St Andrews has been shortlisted for the Top National Depot award, and the Express City Connect network is in the running for the Sustained Marketing Excellence award.

St Andrews depot operates a fleet of 25 vehicles in the busy university town and runs local town services as well as routes across Fife and into Dundee.  The depot’s performance statistics and its reliable, efficient operations provided by team members from the local area impressed the judges   and got St Andrews depot on to the award shortlist.

Stagecoach East Scotland’s Express City Connect network operates high-quality coach services across Fife and into Edinburgh, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and Glasgow. Facilities such as leather seats, on board toilets, power sockets, air conditioning, free wifi and kids activity packs have helped make the services an attractive alternative to the car, achieving increased passenger numbers.

Continual investment and development in the Express City Connect network has meant that ongoing branding efforts and engaging marketing campaigns have taken place over recent years.

Andrew Jarvis, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said: \"Our employees are at the forefront of delivering these services to our customers all year round and we\'re very proud that their constant efforts can be recognised. Our staff at St Andrews are dedicated to providing punctual, quality and friendly bus services and this award nomination is a testament to their commitment to these aims.\"

\"The varied target market of the Express City Connect network requires extensive marketing to recognise and reach the range of customers who can benefit from the routes, create awareness of the luxury services available and provide an improved customer experience.

\"I\'m delighted that these marketing efforts have been recognised by the judges and investment in new coaches later this year will provide another opportunity to highlight the benefits of coach travel to our customers.”

The Express coach network has won the award for Top Express Operation for the previous 2 years at the UK Coach Awards and the Coastrider X7 route, part of the Express network, has previously won the award for Best Bus Service at the 2015 Scottish Transport Awards.

Stagecoach nationally is in the running for 12 awards overall at the 2016 UK Bus Awards including Operator of the Year.
Employees from Britain\'s biggest bus operator are finalists in the unsung hero and young manager of the year categories.
The company is also recognised for operations, new services, marketing, community and environment at the annual awards, with winners due to be announced at a ceremony in London next month where representatives from St Andrews depot and the East Scotland marketing team will attend.
