Practical Health and Safety Training provider, AquaTerra Training Ltd pledged support to ‘Restart a Heart Day’ by providing free cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training to young people at Rathbone, Dundee and DEAP, Arbroath on Tuesday 18 October 2016.

The Aberdeenshire-based firm worked in partnership with Dundee & Angus Developing Young Workforce and The British Heart Foundation to deliver the training to 18 young people over the two locations in Angus.

The Restart a Heart initiative has been developed and led by the European Resuscitation Council to give children and young people the opportunity to learn how to help restart the heart of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest through CPR.

“Effective CPR more than doubles the chance of someone surviving a cardiac arrest, thus making it an incredibly valuable skill to have” said Charlie Cameron, Training Director, AquaTerra Training.

“Restart a Heart is a fantastic initiative and AquaTerra was delighted to contribute staff, equipment and time to ensure the youngsters at Rathbone and DEAP gained an important life skill and the confidence to act quickly to help someone in an emergency situation.”
