ANGUSalive Sports Awards 2016

Published

19th December 2016

ANGUSalive will celebrate the very best of the county’s sporting excellence at a prestigious awards ceremony in March.

As the culture sport and leisure trust for the area, ANGUSalive is hosting and delivering the big event – now in its 21st year – and the countdown has begun in earnest.

But first we need you to nominate your Angus sports stars.

Our awards celebrate the success and achievements of sporting individuals and teams across the Angus area, but it is up to you to single out those talented, dedicated and hard-working athletes, players, coaches, volunteers and personalities for recognition.

Nominees have been of the highest standard throughout the years and we are sure this year will be no different.

The ANGUSalive Sports Awards 2016 supports local sporting talent and aims to raise the profile of our sporting champions and those who help them reach their goals.

Previous awards have celebrated champions in amateur golf, athletics aces and top curlers, as well as local volunteers, coaches, officials and administrators, many of who have gone to perform or work on the world stage, including Commonwealth and Olympic games.

There are nine categories this year –

Club volunteer of the year award

Coach of the year award

Service to sport award

Sports personality of the year award

Sports personality of the year award for people with a disability

School sport volunteer of the year award

Young sports personality of the year award

Club of the year award

Team of the year award

Nomination forms can be completed online or you can download a form to complete. You can view the eligibility criteria for each of the categories and our selection panel will meet in January to agree a short-list and winners for each category. Nominations must be submitted by 4pm on Monday 9 January 2017.

The ANGUSalive Sports Awards 2016 take place at the Reid Hall in Forfar on Thursday 9 March 2017. Tickets are available to buy from 10am on Monday 23 January 2017 from www.angusalive.scot/tickets
