The Dundee Blues Bonanza Seeks Local Support

Local Blues festival looks for help to boost participation.

Now in its 17th year, the Dundee Blues Bonanza is said to be the largest free Blues festival in Europe, and attracts an estimated 10 - 12,000 people over one weekend.

This event helps to put Dundee on the global music map, and every year attracts many people who would otherwise not visit Dundee. To maintain the high level of international participation that the festival is renowned for, support from local businesses is more important than ever.

Of the 135 acts performing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, coming from as far afield as the USA, as well as from Europe and within the UK itself, many bring friends and family for the stay, and come back year after year to take part in what the Lord Provost calls 'The Blues Bonanza Buzz'.

The festival needs to continue to attract musicians and fans from all over the world, and any practical suggestions, as well as endorsements and sponsorship, are being considered.
