East Coast Mainline Pledge

Published

10th March 2017

Angus Council is a member of a non-partisan cross border local government partnership, the East Coast Mainline Authorities Consortium (ECMA), pressing for investment in the east coast mainline railway from both the Scottish and UK governments. Members of ECMA include almost all the council areas through which the east coast mainline passes from the north of Scotland to the fringes of London.

As part of ECMA’s publicity and promotion activity the consortium is now asking businesses and local politicians of all parties to commit to the ECMA pledge.

The pledge is a simple confirmation that you as an individual wish to see investment in the line, a route that supports communities and businesses the length of the UK’s east coast but which has been under resources in terms of investment and development of the rail infrastructure.
