Michelin Tyre plc Dundee produces approximately 7 million tyres per year for the European and export markets.  The Dundee Factory operates 24/7, employs over 800 people and is currently undergoing an exciting programme of transformation and investment.  This will lead the company to access new markets, new types of product, and continue to be a competitive and world class manufacturing facility, into the future. 

Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering

If you would like to come on our journey we are currently recruiting for our Modern Apprenticeship Programme.  Commencing in August 2017, the 4 year programme involves 2 years off-the-job training at our purpose built training facility, gaining a SVQ 2 in the first year.  An integral part of your training will be to attend college on day release working towards an HNC Engineering Systems qualification.  The following 2 years is on-the-job training within the Michelin factory working towards a SVQ 3.

To apply you are required to have a National 5 Qualification in Maths, English and a Technical Subject including Engineering Science, Graphic Communication or similar.  National 5 Physics is desirable but not essential.  You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a team player and have a hands-on approach to your work. 

Previous apprentices have gone on to achieve higher level qualifications after completion of the Modern Apprenticeship and have forged successful engineering careers taking them all over the world with the company.  If you would like to gain skills for life, are committed to working hard and are ready for a new challenge then we want to hear from you!
