A triathlon event held at Dundee’s David Lloyd Health Club last weekend has raised over £1000 for Dundee Foodbank.

Over 45 people competed in the event, with representatives from David Lloyd Leisure, Monifieth Triathlon Club, Dundee Sweatshop and Hillcrest Housing Association taking part.

Lead coach and personal trainer at David Lloyd, Jay Cameron-Thomson said: “The event was a great success and we hope to host it again in the future.”

Dundee Foodbank provides nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to people across Tayside.

The event was staged by the team from Hillcrest Housing Association who are raising funds for the Foodbank as part of their 50 Grand to Lend a Hand staff challenge.

With 50 Grand to Lend a Hand, part of the housing association’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, Hillcrest staff from across Scotland are putting on various events to raise a total of £50,000 for a range of charities and good causes.
