Commenting on Prime Minister Theresa May’s announcement to hold a snap general election on 8th June, Liz Cameron, Director & Chief Executive, Scottish Chambers of Commerce said:

“The Prime Minister’s call for a general election has come as a surprise. Business will be looking for the general election to be swift so that we can get on and tackle key business issues including clarity on our relationship with the EU, infrastructure, investment and skills. Naturally, the general election will provide a platform for all parties to share their agenda for the UK and business will look for reassurance that economic policies are front and centre of all upcoming campaigns.”
