The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa Re-Opens After A 3 Month Refurbishment

The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa is open to guests from 13th April 2017 after a three-month refurbishment.

The Hotel’s refurbishment included roof and window maintenance and a soft refurbishment of over 100 of the 144 guest rooms. As well as aesthetic changes to the décor of the rooms, it has added Five Red-Star touches such as USB charging points, ergonomic electrical outlets and closet lighting.

The iconic Hotel is popular with visitors from all around the world and Kohler Co. wanted to make the changes without compromising its classic charm.

The rooms have been refurbished to offer guests a contemporary feel with a nod to Scottish traditions with a light, airy colour palette to encourage guests to feel relaxed and rejuvenated during their stay.

The refurbishment of the roof means that golf balls will now bounce off. The environmentally-friendly replica of the previous roof was replaced by Euroshield. The rubber roof is one of the only roofs available that has the ability to absorb and deflect the energy from golf ball impact without dents, cracks or damage.

Additionally, the Road Hole Restaurant will now create seafood and grill inspired dishes using fresh, Scottish ingredients whilst the Sands Restaurants’ new extensive, family-friendly menu will offer something for every taste.

Talking of the changes, the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa’s General Manager, Stephen Carter OBE says: “Our overall aim was to respect our most iconic areas of the Hotel. People visit our Resort from all over the world to experience Scottish elegance and we’ve been very careful to blend this seamlessly into the refurbished parts of the Hotel.”

The Resort has other upcoming projects in the pipeline. These projects include the launch of an elite sports facility, catering to the top sports teams in the world. The facility will be located to the immediate North East of Winthank Farm on Kohler owned land. As well as this, the Kohler Waters Spa will be refurbished, offering a next level experience for members and guests which includes a new leisure pool.

The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa has also joined Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection and will begin its partnership from April 2017
