The ‘Clark Thomson Charity Ball’ marked the end of a successful year fundraising as Clark Thomson Insurance Brokers (CTIB) made one last attempt to maximise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support Scotland.
Following a year of hard work from staff members including various bake sales, physical excursions and adrenaline boosting activities, CTIB had already met their fundraising target of £10k, with 5 months to spare!
This was doubled following the prestigious Charity Ball the broker hosted at Dunblane Hydro last Thursday which included special guest visit from Scottish chef, Nick Nairn and the night was presented by Andy Nicol, former Scotland rugby star as he guided the 200 guests through an entertaining night of good food, fundraising activities and live music.
Ailsa Corbett, Fundraising Manager, Tayside from Macmillan explained: “The Regional Fundraising Team have been delighted to support CTIB throughout this charity partnership. The organisation has approached fundraising with such enthusiasm and have been so innovative with their various fundraising events, it’s been a pleasure working together.
The money raised throughout this partnership will help us to support the 220,000 people living with cancer in Scotland at the moment. Partnerships such as these allow us to continue funding nurses and therapists supporting people through their treatment; benefit advice services and direct Macmillan grants helping make money one less worry for people facing cancer; as well as helping Macmillan campaign to continually improve cancer care for the growing number of people living with cancer.”
CTIB Marketing and Communications Manager, Morna Strachan who has been managing the Charity partnership stated “It is with great pleasure that I am delighted on behalf of CTIB to be handing over such a phenomenal amount of money to Macmillan Cancer Support Scotland. The staff at CTIB have all worked so hard to raise money with all the various activities they have been involved in as teams or as individuals and we are so proud that we have achieved £20k for Macmillan Cancer Support Scotland.
