Twenty-four local companies and education establishments gathered at the High School of Dundee on Monday morning for a groundbreaking careers event.

Representatives of each organization joined more than fifty senior pupils for a Business Breakfast, aimed at allowing young people to network with local business people, and inform their choices for university and future career paths.

The Breakfast also welcomed renowned businessman Jim Pettigrew as keynote speaker at the event. Jim, himself a Former Pupil of the High School, spoke about his own career in the City and the five golden rules of business that he follows, before taking a look at the world we are likely to face in the future.

Jim said: 'This Business Breakfast event, 'Inspiring Futures', is all about two things I believe passionately about; firstly, developing the next generation of talent and secondly, building great businesses.'

The pupils, all in Forms 5 and 6, also had the opportunity to network with representatives from organisations including the Universities of Abertay and Dundee, Dundee College, Alliance Trust, Bright Solid, Thorntons Law, Henderson Loggie, McNulty and Wood Group GTS among many others.
