New Employer Recruitment Incentives from Skills Development Scotland

Incentives to help to support businesses and get young people back into work, and more Flexible Training Opportunities available.

From the 1st of April, Skills Development Scotland are offering a newemployer recruitment incentive:

New Employer Recruitment Incentive

This incentive is aimed at supporting businesses in recruiting additional employees in 2011/12. There are two incentives here available to benefit companies with fewer than 50 employees: a £1000 recruitment rebate if they recruit a person aged 18+ who has been unemployed for six months or more and a further £1000 rebate for additional recruitment costs experienced by small companies.

Companies with over 50 employees have the opportunity to benefit from a £1000 recruitment incentive if they recruit a person aged 18+ who has been unemployed for six months or more.

Flexible Training Opportunities Places Increased for 2011/12

The success of the first year of this initiative has shown that SDS can help facilitate and encourage employers to invest in the learning and development for their employees. To further this in the coming year, the number of places avaialable has been increased to 7000.
