A new Associate has been appointed at Andrew Black Design.
Hans Grabowski is an Architect with over 22 years’ experience in all stages of complex design projects, particularly commercial and education projects, laboratories and food processing buildings.
Joining the growing team of seven staff in their recently opened Tay Street Lane premises, Hans will work with Andrew Black Design to support practice marketing and business development. He will be a direct point of contact for clients, take an active role in the design and coordination of the design team, administer contracts during construction and ensure that design intent is maintained.
For the past 12 years, Hans has worked as an Associate at Wellwood Leslie Architects, on residential, commercial and education projects for private and public sector clients, and built a reputation for meeting and exceeding clients’ expectations. Hans’ particular expertise in the design of zero-carbon, ultra-low energy buildings and off-site manufacturing helps to reduce whole life costs, allowing him to respond to clients’ priorities and design innovative buildings which can be constructed on time and on budget.
Hans enjoys working with diverse project teams and ensures that potential problems are identified early and dealt with efficiently, for example in projects involving listed buildings and projects carried out in occupied buildings. Previous clients include Perth & Kinross, Angus and Stirling Councils, the German Government and the Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association. He has taught architecture at Robert Gordon University and the University of Dundee, and currently pursues several applied research projects.
