HSC Academy awardsStudents of the Health and Social Care Academy celebrated their award ceremony this week in a ceremony which marked their achievements throughout the intensive eight week programme. Thirteen graduates received their certificates, presented by Angus Council Social Work and Health Senior Manager Les Hutchinson.

The Health and Social Care Academy is a pre-employment programme, developed by a partnership between Angus College, NHS Tayside and Angus Council, which helps unemployed people who are looking for a career in care to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to apply for a job in care.

The students were able to undertake four days a week, of work experience over three weeks in a variety of health and social care settings across Angus. The placements were provided by Angus Council Social Work and Health and NHS Tayside and played a vital role in developing the student's knowledge and confidence when working in a care setting.
