Dundee Heritage Trust, which runs RRS Discovery and Verdant Works in Dundee, is joining forces with other Dundee hotspots this week at a major trade show in Glasgow.

DHT is one of several visitor attractions and employers who will showcase Dundee's potential as a conference and event venue at EventIt2018, an annual events showcase on March 22nd at Glasgow's SEC.

It joins Dundee & Angus Convention Bureau, Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa, Caird Hall, Glamis Castle, V&A Dundee and the University of Dundee in a collaboration which will promote Dundee and Angus as a place of innovation, design and experimentation.
DHT's appearance at EventIt2018 comes hot on the heels of some major improvements to the meeting and conference spaces at Discovery Point, the visitor centre where the historic RRS Discovery ship is docked. Situated at Dundee's waterfront, Discovery Point is a major visitor attraction drawing crowds from the U.K. and worldwide.

The EventIt2018 collaboration is headed up by Dundee & Angus Convention Bureau, which is promoting Dundee as "a perfect platform where #ideasbecomelegend."
Karen Tocher, Business Tourism Manager with Dundee & Angus Convention Bureau, said:
"This is an exciting collaboration of some of Dundee's major players in terms of business events. We hope visitors to EventIt2018 will see our city for what it is - an exciting place with a very exciting future, and the perfect place to hold a conference or exhibition."
Kim Adamson, Sales and Marketing Manager with Dundee Heritage Trust, said:
"We're really proud to be part of this collaborative opportunity which will showcase some of Dundee and Angus' amazing venues and also our own options for meetings and conferences at both RRS Discovery and Verdant Works."
EventIt2018 is an exhibition and trade show taking place at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow. As well as the exhibition, EventIt2018 hosts a series of learning sessions with prominent speakers from the events industry.

V&A Dundee

V&A at Dundee will be an international centre of design for Scotland. It will celebrate Scotland's historic importance in design and host major exhibitions of outstanding design, helping people understand their own and others' cultural heritage.

University of Dundee

Nobel Prize winning poet and honorary graduate Seamus Heaney has described the University of Dundee as ‘having its head in the clouds and its feet firmly on the ground.’ The ability to be both aspirational and down-to earth and to blend ground-breaking intellectual achievement with practical applications, has given the University its distinctive character.

Glamis Castle

Glamis Castle has been the ancestral seat to the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372, inspiration for Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and birthplace of HRH The Princess Margaret.
