ANGUSalive, the culture, sports and leisure trust for Angus, has a fantastic offer this summer holidays to get the whole family healthy and active! From 29 June – 13 August Cycle2Swim in any ANGUSalive Sport & Leisure pool and receive 50% off a swim*.

Colin Knight, Senior Manager, Sport & Leisure, commented:
“What a great way to enjoy swimming with ANGUSalive throughout the summer holidays. Anyone can cycle to our swimming pools at Arbroath, Montrose and Webster’s Sports Centres as well as Forfar and Brechin Community Campuses to receive a half price swim. Simply show a selfie of yourselves at the bike rack to our reception teams – why not share your pics on our Facebook and Twitter using #AACycle2Swim.”

Cycle racks were recently installed at all ANGUSalive facilities to support active travel as part of an area-wide programme across Angus.

The charity received funding through the Scottish Government’s Smarter Choices Smarter Places, an initiative which was developed to encourage more people to reduce their car use in favour of more sustainable alternatives such as walking, cycling and public transport.

To actively encourage alternative travel, local project ‘Get on the Go Tayside’ helps promote travel links through all three local authorities; Perth and Kinross, Dundee City and Angus Councils as well as Tayside and Central Scotland Transport Partnership (Tactran).

Brenda Roddy, Project Officer from Angus Council, commented:ʺIt’s encouraging to see funding from the Scottish Government’s Smarter Choices Smarter Places campaign helping to support ANGUSalive as they pedal forward with their summer offer to encourage people to Cycle2Swim. Get sharing your selfies on the Get on the Go Tayside page too!ʺ
