Balhousie Monkbarns care home is hosting a special Harvest Festival party where they will welcome special guests from the local church for the event.

Members of the congregation and choir at St Andrew's Church, Arbroath are coming along on the day to sing some hymns and enjoy the festivities. Staff have also arranged a variety of activities during the event including face painting, a tombola stall, a cake and candy stall and a raffle to win a food hamper.

An arts and crafts stall will be selling items created by the residents, from decorated flower pots to decorated clothes pegs. Also, Dundee-based animal handling party company Eden's Garden are coming along with a snake for guests to view and handle as well. All money raised on the day will go towards enhancing the comfort of those living in the home.

Claire Cameron, Home Manager for Balhousie Monkbarns care home, said:

"We are very much looking forward to our Harvest Festival, and welcoming members of our local community to enjoy the party with our staff, residents and their families. The event is a lovely way to bring people together and there really is something for everyone, young and old - from cakes to snakes!"
