Scotland's largest independent firm of Chartered Accountants, Johnston Carmichael - which has offices in both Forfar and Perth - has clinched the Best Medium Firm of the Year award for the fourth consecutive year at the Scottish Accountancy Awards.

The firm beat off stiff competition from Anderson Anderson Brown and Campbell Dallas to be named the winner of the prestigious award at the fourth annual awards ceremony and dinner on Thursday May 19, at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.

Johnston Carmichael was named Best Medium Firm of the Year at the inaugural awards in 2008 and retained the title in 2009 and 2010.

Johnston Carmichael's chief executive Sandy Manson said: 'To have achieved a hat trick in winning this prestigious industry award last year was a big thrill but to retain the title for a fourth consecutive year is a great honour and a huge testament to our people and clients, all of whom have made this possible. Johnston Carmichael is celebrating its 75th anniversary in business this year so it is a special year in which to win the award. While we have grown considerably in the last 75 years we still have much to do as we continue to work on achieving our ambitious plans for the firm.'
