McGill PACE event Thursday 7 February at 12noon

Apex Hotel, Thursday 7th February 12 til 5pm

Local support is being mobilised for the staff & workforce affected by McGills closure, and part of that is the organisation by agencies of an event to provide initial information and support about next steps.

We have offered our support to signpost firms that may be in a position to be taking on people with similar skills or might have opportunities in the short & medium term.

Companies can either attend the event, come along with us on Thursday, or let us know information to pass on on their behalf - either re specific vacancies, or more general contact details.

If there are any local companies who are in a position to offer new roles for any of the large number of skilled and quality workers coming out of McGills, whether that is in trade/construction roles or more general support functions, please contact us on 01382 228545, or email alisonhenderson@dundeeandanguschamber.co.uk

As a local tight knit business community, anything we can do, to work together to support people, is a positive step in what is an incredibly difficult situation.

In addition, we are reaching out to any of the supply chain who has been effected by this closure - to either offer support for the organisation itself, or to workforce effected, so if you can spread the word on this in any way too, that would be really useful.

McGill Apprentices: we've been asked to help track down all the apprentices effected by McGills closure to get in touch with Rachael Thomas at Dundee City Council who will arrange to get their CVs updated ahead of Thursday's PACE event - please pass on the word & ask them to email rachael.thomas@dundeecity.gov.uk
