New Business For Dundee Event Smashes Target

A brand-new business event for Dundee and Angus has smashed its target by becoming a sell-out in its inaugural year.

Dundee & Angus Expo will take place at the city’s Invercarse Hotel on Wednesday, February 27th and originally aimed to attract up to 50 exhibiting businesses and hundreds of visitors in its first year.  Such has been the level of interest from organisations operating in and with links to the area that the exhibitor target has already been surpassed.

Although new to Dundee, the event – hosted by Aberdeen-based Granite PR – draws on the tried and tested formula of Granite Expo which has been running for the past eight years.  The local addition was born after the successful introduction of a Dundee and Angus pavilion in 2017, a move which provided an important stepping stone towards taking the format to a new audience in 2019.

Among the highlights on offer at the free, one-day Dundee & Angus Expo will be more than 50 exhibitors from a cross section of businesses; five free business seminars; a networking breakfast for exhibitors; a motivational morning session; a giant prize draw and a raffle in aid of Tay FM’s Cash for Kids appeal.

Commenting on plans for the inaugural Dundee & Angus Expo, Granite PR managing director and event creator Brett Jackson said: “I continue to see and hear lots of interest from Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire companies in doing business in Dundee and Angus, and equal amounts of interest among Angus and Dundee businesses in doing more business in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.  The Expo format is ideally placed to create the bridge and act as a springboard for companies and individuals, giving them the opportunity to come together, do business and hopefully set the scene for fruitful relationships to come.

“We are delighted at the level of interest our inaugural Expo in this area has received and that, as well as companies from Dundee, Angus, Fife and Perthshire, we will also welcome a range of national organisations operating in or with links to the region.”

He added: “For me, Dundee is an exciting place to do business.  Like all cities, it has its challenges but its drive to innovate and diversify must surely be a model for other locations to sit up and take notice of.”
