The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) launched on 09 May 2019 a new draft Strategic Plan for public consultation.  The plan marks an important stage in the development of the Service and will shape our forward direction for the next 3 year period.  The draft Strategic Plan 2019-22 will be fully consulted upon for 10 weeks ending on 18 July 2019.

“We’re delighted to help spread the word on the SFRS draft Strategic Plan. This is a vital Service and they want to hear your views on their ambition to balance national priorities with the needs of local communities – now and in the future. Please take a few moments to have a look at the Plan and give your feedback. Getting a wide cross section of views really helps to shape the direction for the next 3 years.” Alison Henderson, CEO Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce.

As partners, you remain vitally important in helping shape the SFRS’s overall strategic direction and would like your views on whether the Plan will allow the SFRS to balance national priorities with the needs of local communities. I would therefore ask you to please take the time to read the attached draft Strategic Plan and provide some brief comments to the survey questions, accessible via the link below.

The Plan itself, following the public consultation period, will be finalised by the Board of the SFRS and submitted to the Minister for Community Safety in September 2019 for approval.
