Dundee based solicitors and estate agents RSB Lindsays have presented Macmillan Cancer Support with a cheque for £6000 after a year of fundraising.

RSB Lindsays selected Macmillan as their first charity of the year in 2018 and have taken part in a number of fundraising activities to raise funds for the cancer support charity. The business collected donations throughout the year through their ‘Dress Down Friday’s’, ‘Tuck Shop’ and received a number of generous donations from clients. They also hosted a coffee morning, quiz night and took part in a curling fundraiser earlier in the year. Their collective efforts have seen this significant sum raised for the charity.

Madeleine Gillan, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, said, “We are so grateful that RSB Lindsays selected us to be their charity of the year and we have really enjoyed watching all their efforts. They have thrown themselves into fundraising and the money they have raised will help us to be right there for people living with cancer.”

Chris Todd, Partner, commented; “We are delighted with the total amount we have been able to fundraise for Macmillan. I would like to thank everyone who has supported us and generously donated to this worthy cause. A special thank you goes to our CSR committee who have dedicated their time and put so much effort into organising the activities over the past year. We all had great fun in getting involved in the fundraising events.”

Current projections estimate that 1 in 2 people will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime and currently in Tayside it is estimated that there are over 14,000 people living with and beyond cancer, this is expected to rise to over 23,000 by 2030. Macmillan has a number of services in Dundee to support people affected by cancer physically, financially and emotionally.
