The Circle to host two events for ‘More than Profit organisations

27th November 2019

Dundee-based social enterprise, The Circle, is hosting two events in December for charities, social enterprises and any other ‘More than Profit’ organisations. The events are a special edition of their quarterly networking group which will include a Q&A panel and the pitch competition for the first cohort to take place in The Circle Academy.

The Academy is a 12-week training programme for those interested in running an organisation with a ‘More than Profit’ approach. This pitch event will be the culmination of 12 weeks of intensive training covering essential topics; mindset, business model, finance, legal, governance, people, social impact and sustainability through multiple income streams. The candidates have also been given tasks throughout the course to generate income which will be put into 2 prize pots to be won by the candidate who has performed best at the income generation tasks and the candidate who wins the pitch competition.

The networking event, taking place on Friday 6th December, will include a Q&A panel with representatives from SenScot, First Port and EY Foundation. Following the panel attendees will then have the opportunity to network and make new connections with others in the charity and social enterprise ecosystem. The next event will be the final pitch event for the first cohort of The Circle’s newest initiative, The Circle Academy and will take place on Wednesday 11th December. The candidates who have taken place in the programme and worked on the business plan for their venture will present a pitch on their business plan. The audience will then vote for the candidate who they think deserves to win the prize money for the best pitch. You can register to attend this event here:
