The Government’s plans to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in the UK by 2035 means electric vehicles are growing in popularity so Dundee and Angus College is acting now.
According to the Scottish Government, there are more than 12,000 Ultra Low Emission Vehicles (ULEVs) licensed in Scotland and registration figures are continuing to grow. This demand means the education sector must keep up with the rapid change in the vehicle engineering industry and how we service cars in the future.
D&A College has partnered with Robert Lawson and Sons Auto Electricians to create an Electric Vehicle and Hybrid Training Centre at its Kilspindie Road premises in Dundee. This fully functioning workshop facility will help ensure Scotland has vehicle technicians trained to a high standard to maintain and repair ULEVs.
The training courses offered will ensure our technicians of the future have the knowledge and skills needed to work safely servicing, repairing, removing and refitting high voltage components.
